| Hello Everyone |

I met Ben through my Husband Christopher Chavez.
Ben worked with Chris at Cintas. I remember the first time I talked to Ben
was on the phone, he called our house looking for Chris. It was a late
Sunday night and his voice sounded so stressed out on the phone once Chris
got on the phone with him, Chris was laughing like there was no tomorrow. I
asked him what had happened and he said that Ben was at the Cintas plant
painting because this project had to get done by Monday, he told me he could
not believe that Ben was there on a Sunday night. Chris told me that Ben was
cracking jokes about the Rat (Ben was referring to their supervisor at that
time). The following week we get a phone call again from Ben, Chris was not
home that time, so Ben was cracking jokes to me about my husband asking me
how do I deal with him and his R/C car hobbies, he told me that he thought
the whole R/C car Hobbies was out of control and that I should put my foot
down (of course Ben was joking about Chris R/C because at that time all
Chris would talk about was his car). So finally one day I get to meet the famous Ben, we went out to dinner with him and Jen. We meet them at a Tex-Mex restaurant named Nicks Taste of Texas in city of Covina. As I remember correctly by the end of the dinner my face and stomach was hurting so much from laughing the whole time we were there. Ben was sharing college stories and stories from back home, going to this restaurant made him feel a little back at home, specially when he found out that they sell a certain Texas beer there and when they also sell the Big Red soda pop, He was so proud of his Texas roots. I was amazed by this fellow, I could not believe that this person is full of so much joy and humor, I remember going home that night and telling Chris it must be fun working with him. Chris just laughed and said it is. I didn't see Ben on a daily basis, I would see him whenever my husband would make plans for all of us to meet up at Taste of Texas or when Ben would come over the house, but whenever Ben would call I could not keep a straight face on. He would come up with the weirdest things to talk about or crack jokes about. I don't think I ever had a serious conversation with Ben. I remember one time my husband came home from work and I went to his car to grab a CD and I find all kinds of metal wire and trash in the front seat, I come back in side and ask Chris why did he have all that stuff in the car for, he said that its a game Ben and him would play at work, when ever they would leave there windows a crack open they would trash each others cars. I couldn't stop laughing about it. I thought it was the funniest thing, specially when my husband told me that one day Ben got a dirty underwear and he actually stretched it around Chris's steering wheel (were did Ben find the dirty underwear, no one knows). My Husband and I miss Ben dearly, we were so pleased to meet Bens parents at San Clemente. We asked ourselves everyday why God had to take such a happy, joyful, smart, great person. Life sometimes is not fair. What helps in this biggest sadness Chris and I have had to face is that Bens happiness showed us to always appreciate life and to enjoy life and to live it to the fullest, always be happy because you never know when its your turn to go. Ben you are greatly missed, We will meet again and till then we will always have Taste of Texas. With Love, Chris and Vanessa Chavez |
