How Do You Say “Thank You?”

How do thank…

The people who brought food and drink for others they didn’t even know?

How do you thank…

The people who opened their homes to “strangers” and did their laundry?

How do you thank…

The people who cooked and did dishes for “friends” they barely knew?

How do you thank…

The people who cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned?

How do you thank…

The people who took time and energy and shared their talent in order to pull together the beautiful displays and memories that may never have been if not for your attention to every detail?

How do you thank…

The people who came from near and far to say, “I love you and I care about you?”

How do you thank…

The people who many others never saw or heard but were somehow there whenever anything needed to be done?

How do you thank…

The people who sent cards and photos; who wrote special stories and shared precious memories?

How do you thank…

Those who are given the special gift of being able to help a family in so much pain, suffering so much grief, being so sorrowful that they can barely function plan and execute one of the most beautiful visitations and memorial services I have ever attended?

And lastly,

How do you thank…

A family who truly knows what it means to be A FAMILY?  If we didn’t have each other, what would we have?

There are not enough words in my heart to give any of you the thanks you truly deserve.  Even if you didn’t think about whether or not anyone noticed what you did (which you probably didn’t), MANY OF US NOTICED!!  You were gifts from God sent to our family in a dire time of need.  I pray that if you have not already, you will soon reap the rewards of “a job well done.”  You meant so much to so many of us and your kindness will never be forgotten.

There is but one more “Thank you” to say, and this is by far the hardest of all, but the most necessary – it goes to my God and my Savior, for even though He allowed the most tragic of accidents to take the life of one of the most wonderful people in our lives, He also blessed us with almost 25 years of knowing and loving this very, very special person named BEN GARCIA.  For this, Dear Lord, I THANK YOU!

With love and gratitude,

Aunt Debbie
