"His Joie De Vivre," A Hawaiian Friend Remembers Ben

I knew that seeing Ben at Whittier’s Graduation was a special treat, but I haven’t accepted that it is the last time I’d see him. I recall Ben pressuring Sam to take off of work in favor of the party at the Radisson because “who knew when we’d all be together like this again?” That memory says something that continues to captivate me about Ben: his joie de vivre! Ben was delightful…he had an unending source of joy within himself that spilled over to just about everyone. Just having him around ensured a good time…all I have are happy memories of Ben Garcia…and I will miss him greatly. Me Ke aloha (with love), Ginger M. Gohier
