| The picture in this attachment is a scene of Huntington Beach, California where Ben last lived. He liked this place so much and talked of it many times. He bought it and had it framed and gave it to Laverne and I saying “be sure to put it a good place”. It was numbered and had “To Robert and Laverne with love – Ben” (you may be able to see it on the bottom of the picture. I remember we kidded around with him as to where I would put, saying that I didn’t know if we had room for it. I once remarked “I think I found a place for it in the master bathroom,” he replied “Did you really do that Grandpa?” Of course I told him no. I finally convinced him that I found a great spot for it, above my desk on the wall with all my plaques. I would be able to se it every day and think of him always. He replied, “Hey, that’s great.” It will always be there from now on, I will never move it, I will never forget him nor the place he loved so much and the love he had for mother and I. I wanted to share it with you. Maybe you can find a simple frame and put up in your house also… |
